The Happiest Place on Earth

So, I missed blogging yesterday:(  But I have a good excuse!  We were making happy memories at Disneyland!  It was a fabulous 10 hour day at the Happiest Place on Earth:)  Abby LOVES Disneyland.  You can see the magic in her eyes.  This was the first trip that Jocelyn got it.  She understood where we were going and enjoyed every moment of the day.  Paige was a trooper.  She loved looking at all the lights on the kiddie rides.  I still can’t believe how quickly she is growing up!  

Almost 6 months old!  She is army crawling all over the place:)

Chris said that Jocelyn LOVED the teacups.  Every time they would slow down she would say and sign “more, more”!  This is one of Abby’s favorite rides too.

The sugar kicked in and Jocelyn got CRAZY!  This little girl may just be the class clown:)

Every Family has its own Story

We all have our own story.  By sharing this story by ESPN it is my hope that I am continuing to spread awareness.  I admire the raw honesty of the father. We all come from different backgrounds with different beliefs and can learn something from everyone. 

Tiny Dancer

Tuesday at 9:15 may just be my favorite time of the week.  I get to peek through a window and watch the most beautiful little dancer…..

Shuffle, shuffle

There are people in Jocelyn’s life that are very special.  Ms. Collette is one of those people.  She has been Jocelyn’s dance teacher from our very first dance class.  She is kind and loving but also knows exactly how to redirect Jocelyn to keep her on track.  She is an incredible teacher:) 

You can barely see her squeezed right in the middle of the choo choo train dancing right along with all the other ballerinas. 

Dance class is over…time to go home! 

Down Syndrome Awareness Month

 

This month we celebrate!  We celebrate a little girl so many of us adore.  We celebrate friendships, differences, milestones, and so much more.  We don’t just have one day to celebrate, we get a whole month!

Buddy Walk

 

I can’t believe it’s been a year since this picture was taken!  Look at how much Jocelyn and Abby have grown up since last years Buddy Walk.

On October 6th we are participating in the Inland Empire Buddy Walk at Mt. San Jacinto College in Menifee.  We would love to have any of you join us that day or make a donation!  Following the walk there will be a Harvest Festival.  I’ve heard it’s a good time for all.  Jocelyn’s team is wearing PINK!

Have a Happy Day!

Growing

Paige is growing! and growing!  Much, much faster than her sisters did.  Today I had to go through her drawers and put away all of her 3 month clothes:(  She’s sitting, and rolling and scooting around on the floor!  Chris found her sitting up in her crib yesterday morning.  I think she will be catching up to Jocelyn in size much sooner than I expected.  She’s a happy little girl, most of the time.  As long as you are paying attention to her.  In looking through pictures, I’m realizing many of the 3rd child things 3rd children tell me about are true.  Poor little girl doesn’t have nearly as many pictures as her sisters did.  When we are out and I want to take pictures, I usually take them when she is asleep because I have a free hand.  I’ll be working on this, Paige:)

Jocelyn is such a good big sister…

First day of Preschool!  Abby has the most amazing, energetic teacher.  I couldn’t be any more pleased. Abby comes home so happy and excited to tell me about her day.  They are learning about the letter “D” right now.  The other night at dinner Abby says, “Hey, I have a great idea!  I will bring Jocelyn for show and tell because she has da da da Down Syndrome.”  Makes mama smile:)

I am beyond pleased with Jocelyn’s preschool experience.  The school is embracing having her with them.  Today at pick up I met her new BFF Tia.  Jocelyn, as we were saying goodbye ran up to Tia (in her class) and gave her a big hug. YES!  She is actively participating in all classroom and playground activities.   The preschool has been so kind to have an asst. with Jocelyn each day for an extra set of eyes.  She keeps her on task and helps Jocelyn with anything she may need help with.  Preschool is going even better than I had dreamed:)

Our family went on our first trip in our new camping trailer.  SO much fun.  I see lots of fun trips happening in our future:)  We headed to Coronado for the Lobster Fest!  Our sweet friends met up with us for a day at the beach:) 

 

Abby started playing soccer.  She is on the Turquoise Tornadoes.   Abby is fast.  She runs the field with a big grin on her face.  Her coach is awesome with the kids.  Our family is really enjoying sitting at the park and watching her play:) GO ABBY GO!!!

Super fun summer night at Longshadow winery to watch the Donner Pass Band.  The kids had a blast!  They danced the night away:)  I don’t think I’ve smiled so much in a long time.
