Elias is in awe of Jocelyn’s beauty….like Jocelyn’s silly face?

jocelynandelias

This is our new friend, Elias, that we met in our down syndrome play group.  Aren’t they the cutest kids you’ve ever seen? Elias is a month older than Jocelyn. So nice to have friends who are going through many of the same things that we are:)  These two will probably be friends for a long time…..

LOVE my Sweet Jocelyn Rose!

It’s a very serious job Jocelyn has trying to beep the horn.

Soon after Jocelyn was born a met a lady at the mall who had a little one with down syndrome.  She told me that I would be so thankful to have Jocelyn just the way she was and would want nothing different. Yah right, I thought.  SHE WAS RIGHT!  I am so in love with this little girl.  Her happy spirit and carefree attitude make me smile everyday:)  She really is amazing.

Good news….Got the thyroid test back and all looks good!  Tomorrow we go to the cardiologist and meet with a Physical Therapist for an evaluation.  I’ll let you know how that goes:)

Abby loves taking her clothes off in the back yard and playing in the water.  We are working on going potty inside and not outside on the grass when she is playing in the water….she would rather stay outside.

Oh, I have some good news to share….Jocelyn had her visit with the eye doctor and her eyes look fine.  Yippee, no little glasses for her:)  some bummer news….children's hospital can’t find Jocelyn's blood from her thyroid test.  It looks like we’ll be going down there again for another blood draw….GRRRRR.

Enjoy your summer!!!

Dierks Bentley Concert

Dierks Bentley 060

What a fun night!!!!  We went to a Dierks Bentley Concert on Saturday night with Pat and Julie at the South Coast Winery.  We had a table right in front of the stage and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and great wine and then a spectacular concert.  I even got to shake Dierks hand….he’s pretty cute:)  It was so nice for Chris and I to spend a little time together on a date!  Thanks PooBah and Maggie for watching the girls and to Papa for a fun night.  Dierks Bentley 080  Dierks Bentley 052 Dierks Bentley 036Dierks Bentley 031Dierks Bentley 063

Finally, he called….

july15 058

Today I got a call from Dr. Moore, the cardiologist from Children’s Hospital.  Like we thought the Atrial Septal Defect that Jocelyn was born with has not closed:(  He said the hole is a moderate size and isn’t actually one hole but lots of little holes.  He also said that the right side of her heart is a thicker because it is working harder.   So… here’s the plan.  We meet with Dr. Davis (another cardiologist from Childrens) at the end of August where we will talk in more length about all of this.  Dr. Moore thought that what Dr. Davis would recommend would be echos be done of her heart every 6 months to see if the hole has closed.  He thought it still might (oh God I hope it does).  By the time she is two if it hasn’t closed they will use a catheter to close it.  This would not involve a major heart surgery but I don’t completely understand what it is:)   I feel relieved knowing that nothing major will happen right now.  Oh Jocelyn, you are making us all a little stronger…..

XOXO

My Sweet Jocelyn Rose LOVES the water:)  Her little face lights up when she sees Miss Karen waiting in the water for her.  She splashes and plays all through class.

Jocelyn is the sweetest thing you have ever seen. She turned 7 months old a couple of days ago.  She sits on her own now, eats carrots, papaya, peaches, green beans, sweet potatoes and rice cereal.  She has started pulling her knees up under herself in preparation to crawl.  She rolls all over the floor to get to toys.  Her favorite place to roll to is under the coffee table to suck on the legs???  She weighs 14 lbs.  I hope you enjoyed all these silly faces as much as I do:)  Jocelyn loves life and we love her…..
