A Challenge
I am going to try this out. My goal will be to blog everyday in October to help raise awareness about Down Syndrome. Sometimes my post will be about Down Syndrome, sometimes it wont. Down Syndrome is part of our life but it's not our whole life:) I look forward to sharing our special month with you!

9 Months
I am so in love with this little girl. There are not words to describe how special she is to her mama…and to her whole family:) The journey she has taken us on is amazing. We all are better people because of our Sweet Jocelyn Rose!
She is starting to babble more and says dada, baba and is perfecting her yell. She is not a crier but definitely can let out a good scream when the food isn’t coming fast enough in the high chair or the toy has been taken away by Abby. She is a very determined little girl and can get wherever she wants to be by rolling, pivoting or scooting (not quite crawling, but she will be soon). She is growing out of her baby and looking more and more like a little girl…and a VERY cute one with big beautiful eyes, just like her big sister! I could brag on and on about her………..
XOXO
PS- My friend Amy made this hat for her and I was so excited when I tried it on her today and it still fit! Isn’t it sooooo cute?

A Smorgasbord
We have been busy…..lots of playing has been happening!
We went to Leo’s 2nd Birthday and had a jolly time:) There was so many fun things to do….
Abby got her first taste of cotton candy
Abby started dance class this week…..
I was a proud mama watching her through the window:) She followed along for the whole hour!
Meet Ella. She has enough happy in her heart for us all:) We met her mama in our down syndrome group. Ella hasn’t been able to play with us because she was in the hospital getting chemo treatments for Leukemia. Her blood counts were good enough this week for a little play date with her friend Abby before she headed back into the hospital. What a happy and strong little spirit:) Thanks for coming to play Ella. We can’t wait to play again!!! Abby’s been talking about you since you left!
Say a little prayer for Sweet Ella Grace as she starts another round of chemo today:)
Abby “planted” (more like picked) all the flowers from our pots in her sandbox. It kept her occupied for a good hour…what’s a mama to do???
Mama’s special little girl:)
Big sister Abby feeding Jocelyn:)
Have a happy day and give someone you love an extra special hug!

Buddy Walk
We are going to do a little walk with some of our friends:) Jocelyn’s been practicing her standing but I don’t think she’ll be quite ready to walk. She will take a little stroll! Hopefully we’ll raise a little money as well to support down syndrome programs. You are also welcome come and join us on the walk at Balboa Park. If you would like to do this make sure you join the Temecula Valley Support Group Team. A walk down memory lane…..
“Lasterday” (this is a word that Abby made up. It means any day that was in the past…I like it) we went on a little trip. The reason for the trip was a wedding of a good friend from our Fresno State days. We squeezed a whole bunch into our 3 days! This little trip was just what our family needed. It was wonderful just to spend some quality time together.
“Dairy Queen” (my little city girl thought that’s what the dairy was called). This is the dairy on the Fresno State Campus where I worked in undergrad. I fed the calves their milk twice a day. It was fun to show Abby and Jocelyn around.
We went to lunch at Dr. Rodeik and Moe’s house. She was our college professor and boss when we worked at the Quarter horse unit. So nice to catch up and we look forward to a visit to their new place in Kentucky in the future.
and then there was the wedding with the “princess”. Oh my did Abby love this. Kristen and Bryan had the most beautiful wedding complete with a Cinderella Carriage. Abby is still talking about the beautiful princess and her prince. We are still playing wedding too…
The highlight of the night was dancing with the princess:)
There were boat rides on the lake too!
While at the wedding we got to catch up with many “old” friends. Times have definitely changed since our college days….
Lunch with Matt, Carol, Ian and Mark. We hadn’t seen each other since the arrival of the kiddos. They had such a wonderful time playing together. The next day at lunch Abby says to daddy, “Do you love dump trucks daddy?” I know which two little boys taught her about dump trucks. Matt and Carol are such great people. I really wish they lived closer….
My little roller spent some good time rolling around on the floor at their house. I was a happy mama to be able to put her down and she was happy to be out of her car seat!
….and then we drove a little more to visit the Bass Family. We had a good BBQ out outside just like the good ol' days:) The only difference was the addition of 3 kids. Colby was 3 weeks old and a real cutie! I can’t believe how strong he is. Such a lucky little guy to have such great parents. Jocelyn and Abby can’t wait for him to grow a little bit so they can play. I wish they lived closer too….
Riding the cart in and out of the hotel rooms was a highlight for Abby.
What a great trip!

Sensory Time Fun:)
I have a “theory” that in order to be fortunate to have a little angel in your family you have to be a wonderful person. This group that we have connected with is GREAT! Everyone is kind, fun and loving . We do all have one very special thing in common but without that special person we would probably never know one another. We meet once a month at Sensory Time for some dinner, time to chat, and playtime for the kiddos:)
Jocelyn and Taylor:)
I just had to put this in here:) Natalie looked over to find her older son Vitali on top this large climbing structure standing up!
Riley
Fay and Baby Taylor
Jocelyn, Elias and Taylor all checking each other out!
Chatting with some sweet mamas!

My little dancers
Then there was a dance recital in the hallway!
Jocelyn and Elias
This is Elias…you’ve met him before….and I know you’ll meet him again:) Jocelyn and Elias are buds. They both are happy about life! Each Tuesday Elias and Jocelyn swim together. Today at swimming was their first kiss….they went in for a hug and decided kissing was necessary too. Ohhhh they make their mamas smile:)
