Sweet Jocelyn Rose is 6 Months Old:)

6 months 003

My Sweet Jocelyn Rose is 6 months old today and I can’t believe it.  It seems like I have had her forever but can’t believe she is already 6 months old.  I just love her to pieces.  She brings so much happiness to our family to see her doing so very well.

Playing the baby piano is one of her favorite things to do with her teacher Ally.

Soon, Jocelyn will be sitting.  Ally brings a big ball for Jocelyn to hold on to.  She can sit on her own when she is holding on to it.  Jocelyn loves this ball.   It has grippy bumps all over it, which Jocelyn thinks are nipples:)

Happy 6 month birthday Jocelyn…. you are LOVED by so many:)

Silly Abby

6 moths 008

I kept finding magazines on the floor next to the toilet.  Silly me, thought Daddy was pulling them down.  Nope, it was Abby.  She is very particular about her potty time.  “I need privacy (slams the door)”, is usually what she says.  Here she is reading the Horse Trader while on the pot.

Abby is the proud owner of her very own flip flops.  She was so excited to go and buy them.  When we got home we all wore our flip flops.  Abby would stand next to us and say, “same, same.”  Such a cutie:)

Rolling Baby

(this file is very large. Let the whole thing load before you try to watch it.  You can drag the circle play button back to let it load.  My camera has been fixed….it wont happen again…PROMISE)

We are so very proud of our Sweet Jocelyn.  She continues to amaze us with her strength:)  She is rolling over now from her back to her belly and prefers to not ever be on her back.  When I am trying to change her diaper she will flip over!  Once she flips over she “swims”….you’ll see…we also call her Shamu sometimes.  Jocelyn is a JOY!

Father’s Day

June10 108

We had a special Father’s Day weekend for some very special Dad’s:) My girls are so luck to be surrounded by an amazing Daddy, PooBah,  Nonno, Papa, Great Papa and Great Grandpa.  So many WONDERFUL Dads:)

Abby adores her Daddy.  Each afternoon she watches out our front windows for him to come home.  She loves our afternoon walks down to the hospital to visit Daddy in the office.  The other day Daddy was “fixing” an alpacas leg.  I couldn’t watch but Abby pulled up a tool box and took a seat right next to Dr. Huth (that’s what she calls him when he’s working).  She sat longer than I have ever seen her sit and watched quietly.  Maybe she will follow in her Daddy’s footsteps…..

Jocelyn, is so very, very blessed to have such an amazing father.  Jocelyn was welcomed to the world by her Daddy this year.  I now can’t imagine it any other way. The smiles Jocelyn gives her Daddy are incredible.  I can’t wait until she can understand what a special Daddy she has…

New Friends

Our Sweet Jocelyn Rose has helped us make many new friends:)  Last week we hosted an little get together for a group that is just starting in Temecula.  It is a support group for families with young children with Down Syndrome.  It’s not a big group…there aren’t many kids with Down Syndrome in Temecula:)  This group with allow families to share information with one another and develop lasting friendships among the little ones (and likely the parents too)!

I do have to share a funny story.  You know how much Abby loves parties.  She kept asking who was coming over and I would explain some friends….there were so many questions,  “Who mommy? Why? Which?”  I finally decided to call it a down syndrome party.  “For Jocelyn she asked?” ….Yes, for Jocelyn.  That was a good enough reason for a 2 year old.  No more questions, just a down syndrome party:) We had a good “party” with Sonia, Larry, Liam and Lucas.  We look forward to our next get together.

We’ve got an eater!!

My sweet Jocelyn Rose got her first taste of food today (rice cereal)…..and she LOVED IT! From the first bite she opened her mouth and swallowed:)

I know, I know I brag about my sweet Jocelyn a lot ….but I couldn’t believe how well she did. The coordination it takes to open her mouth, swallow, grab for the spoon, put it into her mouth….it just makes this mama so very, very happy to see her doing so well:)

Grandma Liz’s Cabin

June10 133

We finally made it up to Idyllwilde to check out a little cabin that Grandma Liz rented.  It’s a great little getaway that’s only an hour from our house.  Abby loves the mountains…it makes me sad sometimes to think she will not remember where she was born (the neat mountain town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado).  As we rounded a corner into Idyllwilde Abby says, “Are we going to see Frosty the Snowman?”  This smart little girl remembered that we went there to build a snowman this past winter.  It was a sad time when we explained that frosty melted…

Pool fun

My two little watermelons went for a swim with daddy this past weekend.
Jocelyn got to go in a pool for the first time and LOVED it. She was kicking her legs around and playing with daddy.

Dare devil Abby went down the slide by herself. Don't worry...daddy was there to catch her at the bottom

Kickin' back, doin' a little sun bathing:)

Thank you SO much Tate and Dave for letting us enjoy your BEAUTIFUL pool.

When I grow up....

Today I found Abby down in my bedroom singing and dancing in front of the mirror. I think Chris and I are going to have our hands full with this little girl...

Sweet Jocelyn Rose

How could you not smile when you see this little girl? She get's happier and happier as the days go by...and so does her mama. I am so very proud of her. Each time she does something new, it makes me so so happy. It's a different feeling than I ever felt with Abby. It's a feeling I think only a mother of a special baby knows:) I love to watch her as she tries to figures things out. You can see her mind working. She is figuring out how to grab toys in front of her and I know it's not easy for her. She loves to observe what's going on around her. Look at how focused she is watching this Lorakeet. Sweet Jocelyn Rose is going to do amazing things...I just know it:)
