Today I got a call from Dr. Moore, the cardiologist from Children’s Hospital. Like we thought the Atrial Septal Defect that Jocelyn was born with has not closed:( He said the hole is a moderate size and isn’t actually one hole but lots of little holes. He also said that the right side of her heart is a thicker because it is working harder. So… here’s the plan. We meet with Dr. Davis (another cardiologist from Childrens) at the end of August where we will talk in more length about all of this. Dr. Moore thought that what Dr. Davis would recommend would be echos be done of her heart every 6 months to see if the hole has closed. He thought it still might (oh God I hope it does). By the time she is two if it hasn’t closed they will use a catheter to close it. This would not involve a major heart surgery but I don’t completely understand what it is:) I feel relieved knowing that nothing major will happen right now. Oh Jocelyn, you are making us all a little stronger…..
XOXO
