Teachers

Teachers always have and always will be an important part of our lives.  As we celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month I would like to share some very special teachers in our lives.

Meet John.  He is a charismatic, caring and encouraging man that adores Sweet Jocelyn.  He teaches Jocelyn’s gymnastics class.  I have a feeling that he will be a part of her life for quite some time.  Every Tuesday Jocelyn has gymnastics.  She is in a class with typical children 18 months to 2 1/2 years.  She follows along in the mommy and me class just like every other kid.  It really is quite remarkable to watch.

It gets better.  Abby has an assistant teacher in her class named Leslie. Leslie carefully watches Abby’s class through their rotations.  Spotting them on the balance beam and as they do rolls.   Leslie is celebrating this month too:)

My favorite part of the class, where mama’s heart melts, is when Jocelyn marches over and sits down with all the other kids in the stamp line, all by herself.  Mama’s heart is full after gymnastics….
